J Det tredje oc tivende Joas Ahasia søns Juda Kongis Aar / blef Joahas Jehu søn Konge ofver Jsrael i Samaria / i sytten Aar. | 1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years. |
| 2 Han gjorde, hvad der var ondt i herrns øjne, og vandrede i de synder, Jeroboam, Nebats søn, havde forledt Israel til; fra dem veg han ikke. | 2 Oc hand giorde Ont for HErrens Øyne / oc vandrede efter Jeroboams Nebats Søns Synder / som kom Jsrael til ad synde / hand vigede icke der fra. | 2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom. |
| 3 Da blussede Herrens vrede op mod Israel, og han gav dem til stadighed i kong Hazael af Arams og hans søn Benhadads hånd. | 3 Derfor blef HErrens Vrede grum paa Jsrael / oc hand gaf dem i Hasaels Kongens af Syriens haand / oc i Benhadad Hassaiels søns haand / alle Dage. | 3 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days. |

| 5 og Herren gav Israel en befrier, som friede dem af Arams hånd; så boede israeliterne i deres telte som før. | 5 Oc HErren gaf Jsrael en Frelsere oc de udkomme af de Syrers Haand / oc Jsraels Børn boede i deres Boliger / som tilforn. | 5 (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime. |

| 9 Så lagde Joahaz sig til hvile hos sine fædre, og man jordede ham i Samaria; og hans søn Joas blev konge i hans sted. | 9 Oc Joahs sof hen med sine Forfædre / oc de begrofve hennem i Smaria : Oc hans Søn joas blef Konge i hans sted. | 9 And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead. |
| 10 I kong Joas af Judas syv og tredivte regeringsår blev Joas. | 13 Så lagde Joas sig til hvile hos sine fædre; og Jeroboam satte sig på hans trone. Joas blev jordet i Samaria hos Israels konger. | 13 Oc Joas sof hen med sine Forfædre / oc Jeroboam sad paa hans Stool : Oc Joas blef begrafven i Samaria / hos Jsraels Konger. | 13 And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel. |

And he said, The arrow of the LORD'S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them. |
| 18 Derpå sagde han: »Tag pilene!« Og han tog dem. Da sagde han til Israels konge: »Slå på jorden!« Og han slog tre gange, men holdt så op. | 18 Oc hand sagde : Tag Pjlene : oc hand tog dem / Oc hand sagde til Kongen af Jsrael : Slaa paa Jorden /Oc hand log tre gange / oc stood stille. | 18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. |
| 19 Da vrededes den Guds mand på ham og sagde: »Du burde have slået fem-seks gange, så skulle du have tilføjet Aram et afgørende nederlag, men nu skal du kun slå Aram tre gange!« | 19 Da blef den Guds Mand vred paa hannem / oc sagde : Hafde du slagit fem eller sex gange / da skulde du slagit de Syrier / indtil du hafde ødelagt (dem/) Men du skalt nu slaa de Syrer tre gange. | 19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice. |
| 20 Så døde Elisa, og de jordede ham. År efter år trængte moabitiske strejfskarer ind i landet; | 20 Oc Elisæus døde / oc de begrofve hannem / Oc Moabiternes Strjdsfolck fulde i Landet næste Aar . Oc det hende sig / ad de begrofve en Mand / oc see / de saa Hæren / oc de kaste Manden i Elisæi Graf : | 20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year. |
| 21 og da nogle israeliter engang fik øje på en sådan skare, netop som de var ved at jorde en mand, kastede de manden i Elisas grav og løb deres vej. | 22 Kong Hazael af Aram trængle Israel hårdt, så længe Joabaz levede. | 22 Saa trængde Hasael / Kongen af Syrien / Jsrael /saa længe Joahas lefde. | 22 But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz. |
| 23 Men Herren forbarmede sig og ynkedes over dem og vendte sig til dem på grund af sin pagt med Abraham, Isak og Jakob; han ville ikke tilintetgøre dem og havde endnu ikke stødt dem bort fra sit åsyn. | 23 Men HErren giorde Naade med dem / oc forbarmede sig ofver dem / oc vende sig til dem / for hans Pactis skyld / med Abraham / Jsaac oc Jacob / oc vilde icke fordærfve dem / hand bortkaste dem icke heller fra sit Ansict / indtil nu. | 23 And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet. |
| 24 Men da kong Hazael af Aram døde, og hans søn Benhadad blev konge i hans sted, | 24 OcHasael / Kongen af Syrien / døde / oc hans søn Benhadad blef Konge i hans sted. | 24 So Hazael king of Syria died; and Benhadad his son reigned in his stead. |
| 25 tog Joas, Joahaz's søn, de byer tilbage fra benhadad, hazaels søn, som han i krigen havde frataget hans fader Joahaz. Tre gange slog Joas ham og tog de israelitiske byer tilbage. | 25 Oc Joas Joahas søn vende om / oc tog de Stæder af Benhadads Hasaels søns haand / som hand hafde tagit fra Joahas hans Faders Haand / med Strjd : Tre gange slog Joas hannem / oc tog Jsraels Stæder igien. | 25 And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel. |
