| 1 Herren sagde til Moses: "Tilhug to stentavler som de forrige; på dem vil jeg skrive de ord, der stod på de forrige tavler, som du knuste. | 1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. |
| 2 Hold dig rede til i morgen. I morgen tidlig skal du gå op på Sinajs-bjerg og stille dig hos mig dér, på toppen af-bjerget. | 2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount. |
| 3 Ingen anden må komme op sammen med dig; der må overhovedet ikke vise sig nogen på-bjerget, og hverken får eller køer må græsse lige ved-bjerget." | 3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. |
| 4 Moses tilhuggede to stentavler som de forrige, og tidligt om morgenen gik han op på Sinaj-bjerg, sådan som Herren havde befalet ham, og han tog de to stentavler med sig. | 4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. |
| 5 Herren steg ned i skyen og stillede sig hos ham, og Moses påkaldte Herrens navn. | 5 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. |
| 6 Og Herren gik forbi ham og råbte: "Herren, Herren er en barmhjertig og nådig Gud, sen til vrede og rig på troskab og sandhed. | 6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, |
| 7 Han bevarer troskab i tusind slægtled, tilgiver skyld og overtrædelse og synd; men han lader ikke den skyldige ustraffet; han straffer fædres skyld på børn, børnebørn, oldebørn og tipoldebørn." | 7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. |
| 8 Straks kastede Moses sig til jorden | 8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. |
| 9 og sagde: "Herre, hvis jeg har fundet nåde for dine øjne, så gå med iblandt os, Herre, for nok er det et stivnakket folk, men du vil tilgive vor skyld og synd og beholde os som din ejendom." | 9 And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance. |
| 10 Herren sagde: "Nu vil jeg slutte en pagt. For øjnene af hele dit folk vil jeg gøre sådanne undere, som aldrig før er gjort på jorden eller hos noget andet folk, og hele det folk, som du er hos, skal se Herrens gerning; for det, jeg nu vil gøre for dig, er frygtindgydende. | 10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. |
| 11 Hold alt det, jeg i dag befalerdig. Jeg vil drive amoritterne, kana'anæerne, hittitterne, perizzitterne, hivvitterne og jebusitterne bort foran dig. | 11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. |
| 12 Tag dig i agt for at slutte pagt med indbyggerne i det land, du rykker ind i, for at det ikke skal blive en snare for dig. | 12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: |
| 13 Deres altre skal I rive ned, deres stenstøtter skal I knuse, deres Ashera?pæle skal I hugge om. | 13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: |
| 14 Du må ikke tilbede nogen anden gud, for "Lidenskabelig" er Herrens navn, for han er en lidenskabelig Gud. | 14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: |
| 15 Du må ikke slutte pagt med landets indbyggere, for når de horer med deres guder og ofrer til dem, vil de indbyde dig, og du kommer til at spise af deres offer; | 15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; |
| 16 og hvis du lader dine sønner gifte sig med deres døtre, og deres døtre horer med deres guder, vil de også få dine sønner til at hore med deres guder. | 16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. |
| 17 Du må ikke lave dig støbte guder. | 17 Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. |
| 18 Du skal holde de usyrede brøds fest. Syv dage skal du spise usyrede brød, sådan som jeg har befalet dig, ved festen i måneden abib, for i måneden abib drog du ud af Egypten. | 18 The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. |
| 19 Alt det første, der kommer ud af moderlivet, skal tilhøre mig, det gælder alle handyr af dit kvæg, det førstefødte af okser og får. | 19 All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. |
| 20 Det førstefødte æsel kan du frikøbe med et stykke småkvæg. Vil du ikke frikøbe det, skal du brække halsen på det. Enhver førstefødt blandt dine sønner skal du frikøbe. Tomhændet må ingen se mit ansigt. | 20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty. |
| 21 I seks dage må du arbejde, men på den syvende dag skal du hvile; selv når der skal pløjes eller høstes, skal du hvile. | 21 Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest. |
| 22 Du skal fejre ugefesten med den første afgrøde af hvedehøsten, og frugt høstfesten ved årsskiftet. | 22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. |
| 23 Tre gange om året skal alle mænd hos dig se Gud Herrens, Israels Guds, ansigt. | 23 Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel. |
| 24 Når jeg driver folkene bort foran dig og udvider dit landområde, skal ingen tilegne sig din jord, når du tre gange om året drager op for at se Herren din Guds ansigt. | 24 For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. |
| 25 Du må ikke ofre mit slagtoffers blod sammen med syrnet brød, og påske festens offerkød må ikke ligge natten over. | 25 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning. |
| 26 Det bedste af den første afgrøde af din jord skal du bringe til Herren din Guds hus. Du må ikke koge et kid i dets mors mælk." | 26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. |
| 27 Herren sagde til Moses: "Skriv disse ord ned, for det er på grundlag af disse ord, jeg slutter pagt med dig og med Israel." | 27 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. |
| 28 Så blev han der hos Herren i fyrre dage og fyrre nætter uden at spise eller drikke noget, og han skrev pagtens ord, de ti bud, på tavlerne. | 28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. |
| 29 Da Moses kom ned fra Sinajs-bjerg, havde han Vidnesbyrdets to tavler i hånden, da han gik ned fra-bjerget. Moses vidste ikke selv, at det strålede fra hans ansigt, fordi Herren havde talt med ham; | 29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. |
| 30 men Aron og alle israelitterne så, at det strålede fra hans ansigt, og de blev bange for at komme ham nær. | 30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. |
| 31 Men Moses kaldte på dem, og Aron og alle overhovederne i menigheden kom hen til ham igen, og Moses talte med dem. | 31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. |
| 32 Derefter kom også alle israelitterne nærmere, og han gav dem besked om alt det, som Herren havde sagt ham på Sinajs-bjerg. | 32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. |
| 33 Og da Moses var færdig med at tale med dem, lagde han et slør over sit ansigt. | 33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face. |
| 34 Men hver gang Moses kom ind for Herrens ansigt for at tale med ham, tog han sløret af, indtil han skulle ud igen. Så gik han ud og fortalte israelitterne, hvad han havde fået befaling om. | 34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. |
| 35 Og hver gang israelitterne såMoses' ansigt, så de, at det strålede fra hans ansigt; Moses tog da sløret for sit ansigt, indtil han igen skulle ind og tale med Herren. | 35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the veil upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. |
