Tåberne siger ved sig selv: »Gud er ikke til!« De handler ondt og afskyeligt, ingen gør godt. | 2 To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. |
| 3 Gud ser fra himlen ned over menneskene for at se, om der er en forstandig, én der søger Gud. | 3 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. |
| 4 De er alle faldet fra, alle er fordærvede; ingen gør godt, ikke en eneste. | 4 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. |
| 5 Forstår de intet, de forbrydere, som lever af at æde mit folk? De påkalder ikke Gud. | 5 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God. |
| 6 Da skal de gribes af rædsel, hvor de ikke ventede rædsel, for Gud skal splitte din belejrers knogler. De bliver gjort til skamme, for Gud forkaster dem. | 6 There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them. |
| 7 Gid Israels frelse må komme fra Zion! Når Gud vender sit folks skæbne, skal Jakob juble og Israel glæde sig. | 7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad. |
