| 1 Jeg løftede øjnene, og jeg så fire horn. | 1 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns. |
| 2 Jeg sagde til den engel, der talte med mig: »Hvad betyder det?« Han svarede: »Det er de horn, som spredte Juda, Israel og Jerusalem.« | 2 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. |
| 3 Så lod Herren mig se fire smede. | 3 And the LORD showed me four carpenters. |
| 4 Da jeg spurgte: »Hvad er de kommet for at gøre?« fik jeg svaret: »Det er de horn, som spredte Juda sådan, at ingen kunne løfte sit hoved; men nu er de kommet og har hvæsset deres økser for at hugge hornene af de folk, der løftede deres horn mod Juda for at sprede det.« | 4 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it. |

And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof. |

| 8 og sagde til ham: »Løb hen og sig til den unge mand dér: Jerusalem skal ligge som åbent land, så rig på mennesker og kvæg skal den være. | 8 And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: |
| 9 jeg selv, siger Herren, vil være en mur af ild omkring den og vise min herlighed i den.« | 9 For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. |
| 10 Kom, kom! Flygt fra Nordens land, siger Herren, for jeg spredte jer for himlens fire vinde, siger Herren. | 10 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. |
| 11 Kom! Slip bon, Zion, du som bor hos Babylons datter. | 11 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. |
| 12 For dette siger Hærskarers Herre ? til herlighed har han sendt mig ? til de folk, der plyndrede jer: »Den, der rører jer, rører ved mit øjeæble. | 12 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. |
| 13 Jeg svinger min hånd imod dem, så de bliver bytte for dem, der nu er deres trælle.« Så vil I forstå, at Hærskarers Herre har sendt mig. | 13 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. |
| 14 »Du skal juble og glæde dig, Zions datter, for nu kommer jeg og tager bolig hos dig, siger Herren. | 14 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. |
| 15 På den dag skal mange folkeslag slutte sig til Herren og være mit folk, og jeg tager bolig hos dig. Så vil du forstå, at Hærskarers Herre har sendt mig til dig. | 15 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. |
| 16 Herren vil tage Juda i besiddelse som sin ejendom i det hellige land, og han vil udvælge Jerusalem på ny. | 16 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. |
| 17 Vær stille for Herren, alle mennesker! For han bryder op fra sin hellige bolig. | 17 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation. |
